So a few weeks ago, I finally found the time (and the energy) to paint and re-decorate my room! I was more than ready for the change. I have had the same room color/decorations since my senior year of high school!
Though I just realized that I forgot to take “before” pictures and only took “after” pictures. But just picture a room with 4 maroon colored walls. Yes, all 4 of my walls were a dark maroon, it made for the perfect “sleeping cave” as I liked to call it. It was definitely time for a change. A more modern change that is! Being that I’m obsessed with the new and trendy ”chevron” print, I decided that is what I wanted one of my walls to be! So here are some pictures I thought I’d share with you to show off my new “chevron” room, hope you enjoy! :]
First my dad and I, painted the base coat a “dark gray” the color we wanted the wall to be. Once that dried, we used chalk and a lazer thing-y to make a grid on my wall in order to map out the chevron pattern.
Next, after we were finished marking the wall with a grid, we were finally able to tape off the chevron pattern
Once we taped off the entire chevron pattern, we were able to put on the first coat of the contrasting (“light gray”) color
And WAH LA! The finishing product - a light gray/dark gray chevron wall! We decided to go with the “light gray” color for the rest of the walls to brighten up the room so it wouldn’t be so dark like it was before.
I am seriously IN LOVE with my room now! I can’t stop staring at my wall (as weird as that sounds). But after a few hours of cleaning up and putting my furniture and pictures back, my room is finally livable again (as NOT seen in these pictures) :]
Have you guys recently re-modeled your rooms? What does your room look like?
