You Might Be A College Student If…

Like Jeff Foxworthy’s stereotypical jokes about rednecks, I came up with a few college student stereotypes (most of which are sadly true!)

  • If you carry less than a dollar on you at all times because that’s all you have
  • If Google is your home page
  • If You have the pizza delivery phone number memorized
  • If You have ever done laundry at 4am
  • If You have ever paid more than $100 for a single book
  • If You have ever sold that same $100 book five months later, unread, for seven bucks
  • If You set your alarm clock for 8:50am to make a 9:00am class
  • If You consider empty alcohol bottles to be decorations
  • If the final term paper is due at 8:00am and you started it at 2:00am
  • If your backpack is giving you Scoliosis
  • If you get more sleep in class than in your room
  • If you can sleep through your roommate’s blaring stereo
  • If you get more e-mail than mail
  • If you live in a house with three couches, none of which match
  • If you consider Mac and Cheese a balanced meal
  • If you cannot remember when you last washed your car
  • If you average less than 4 hours of sleep a night
  • If your trash is overflowing and your bank account isn’t
  • If you go to Wal-Mart more than 3 times a week
  • If you wear the same jeans 5 days in a row — without washing them
  • If your breakfast consists of an energy drink or coffee on the way to class
  • If your social life consists of a date with the library

I don’t know about about you guys but I know I can relate to a few of these or at least have a few friends that I know can relate! Hope you enjoyed :]

Spring Break

Being that spring break just around the corner, I’ve heard all kinds of plans from fellow students as to where they’re headed for their week off. Some are staying local, others are headed to some of the top spring break destinations.

As for me, due to lack of planning and saving, I won’t be going on a destination spring break trip, but I am going to try to accomplish some of my bucket list items. For instance #43 on my bucket list is to ride in a hot air balloon. Or how about # 65 on my list; go skydiving. I dont think either of these items are impossible to accomplish on a spring break! In fact I’ve done some research and I could go on a hot air balloon ride annnnnd skydive both in Sacramento. Now I’m not saying I will be able to do both (being that each activity is about $200) BUT I’m going to at least attempt to cross off one of them from my list!

Now for some not-so-pricey-bucket-list-items; I could possibly cross off #1 on my list and ride on the back of a motorcycle. My uncle owns one so not only would I get to go visit him over break but go for a ride as well! I could try to cross off #67 and donate blood (I’m pretty sure I’m not anemic anymore…I hope). Finally, I would really like to scratch off #96 off my list and participate in Tom’s One Day With Out Shoes (April 10th, which happens to be the second day of spring break).

Even though my spring break isn’t going to be anywhere exotic, I am excited to cross off a couple things from my list and just relax without having to worry about any due dates or deadlines (whew!). So now I want to hear it, what are YOU guys doing for your spring break??

Because I’m not technically a Senior until next semester (even though I’ve been in college since August of 2007, but hey who’s counting?!) I’m pretty sure I have an early case of Senioritis which I’m referring to as Junioritis!

Don’t get me wrong my grades are good and I’m passing all of my classes, but man have my motivation levels dropped! I have 2 theories for this sudden illness:

1.    My brother is in the Army and is home on leave for a month before he has to move to Germany – and all I want to do is be at home hanging out with him! I mean who needs school or work when you haven’t seen your brother since you were a SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL?! (And a month just isn’t enough time to catch up after all these years)

2.    All of my friends just graduated or are graduating this semester and I still have a YEAR to go…cool, I still have a year of added stress consisting of exams, homework, papers, grades, etc. while they don’t have to worry about any of that, let alone never have to purchase a scantron ever again! They get to start their careers and make real money instead.

I know it sounds like I’m complaining (which I probably am) but hey, I cant help it, it’s an illness! They should really have some antibiotic for this…

10 Reasons

So as a religious Ellen-DeGeneres-Show-Fan (and by religious I mean I tape it daily so I can enjoy it as soon as I get home from work and school) I thought I would give you guys 10 GOOD reasons why you should start watching her show!

  1. She’s absolutely hilarious (the stuff she says and how she says it will keep you laughing)
  2. She dances every start to her show (c’mon you didn’t see Oprah dancing did you)
  3. She has the best segments (Clumsy Thumbsy, Whats Wrong With These Photos, Photos)
  4. She gives her audience prizes every show (very rare that she doesn’t give anything away)
  5. Not only does she give to her audience, but to those in need (she gave away a house so far this season!)
  6. She promotes awesome charities/causes awareness (The Gentle Barn, Stop Bullying)
  7. She has a diversity of guests that come on her show (from Drew Brees to Kristen Bell…speaking of Kristen Bell, check out her Sloth Meltdown hilarious auto-tuned version)
  8. She plays games on her show (and chooses audience members to participate for a prize)
  9. Has an awesome DJ on her show who plays music everyone can enjoy (Tony)
  10. She is a genuinely a good and giving person (who promotes kindness by saying “Be Kind To One Another” after the end of every show)

Wordless Wednesday

Ok guys its “Wordless Wednesday” which means most of this post will be in pictures. And as you might have read in my About Me section I LOVE my 3 cats!  They all have so much personality, it’s kind of ridiculous. So today I thought I would introduce you to just one of the three, and what better way to show you guys through pictures! Bare with me for those of you who aren’t cat people I promise this wont be too painful…and if you are cat people, your welcome. :]

Meet "Oliver", the only cat I know that has eyebrows. (By the way this is on the very top of a curtain rod in my kitchen)

Cheapest cat toy ever, and so cliche. "Cat in a Bag"

Playing dead? Or sleeping?

The day Oliver decided to climb up a 30 ft pole in my back yard (see that white speck, yep that's him)

Webcam fun (Trix bunny anyone?)

Another reason why I procrastinate

Well everyone…there you have it, my first (and definitely not last) “Crazy Cat Lady” post! Hope you enjoyed, until next time… :]
